Greater Youth Collaborative Opus (GYCO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates as a student-centered service initiative, designed to foster youth development through meaningful community engagement.
GYCO’s programs place students at the center of service activities, encouraging them to apply their talents—particularly in music and the arts—to support seniors, patients, refugees, and other underserved populations. Adult mentors and parent volunteers provide oversight and logistical support to ensure program quality, safety, and long-term sustainability.
Our mission is to help and support the most disadvantaged members of our communities. We achieve this through five distinct operations called OPUS. Each OPUS has its own mission statement, target audience, and relief endeavors
OPUS I: gift of music
With OPUS I, we aim to connect our communities through the healing power of music to support those who are weak and often neglected. We offer live orchestra performances for seniors, cancer patients, refugees, veterans, and the homeless.
OPUS II: gift of love
With OPUS II, we aim to provide basic necessities to the most vulnerable members of our communities. We hold donation drives for the homeless, with items donated include hygiene products (i.e. toothpaste and toothbrushes) and basic first aid items (i.e. band-aids).

OPUS III: gift of hope
With OPUS III, we aim to aid refugees in their process of settlement in their new communities through our support for education and literacy. We hold donation drives for refugees, with items donated include school supplies and books.
OPUS IV: gift of friendship
With OPUS IV, we aim to foster friendship between aging veterans and the youth through written correspondences. We produce and deliver written/audio messages and care packages to veterans.

OPUS V: gift of cheer
With OPUS V, we aim to encourage and support those who are experiencing an incredibly difficult time in their lives. We produce and deliver personalized music performances and care packages for cancer patients undergoing active treatment.
